Your recipes, prices and quotes
The calculators run entirely in your browser. Ingredient names, prices, quantities, event details, notes and quote totals are not sent by this site’s code to any server, analytics service or third party. They are kept in your browser’s local storage on your device so that your work is still there when you come back.
- Only on this browser. Saved projects are not backed up and do not sync between devices. Clearing browser data, or using a private window, can remove them. Use the export button to keep a backup file.
- Shared devices. Anyone who uses the same browser profile on the same device may be able to see your saved projects. Use Clear all saved data on the Saved projects page on a shared computer.
- Exported files (backups, CSV, print or PDF) are created on your device and are yours to store and share. A customer estimate contains only what you choose to show a customer.
- Recipe and quote details are never placed in page addresses (URLs).
The contact form
If you send a message through the contact form, the name, email address, subject and message you type are sent from your browser to this site’s server function and passed to an email delivery service (Resend) that delivers them to the site operator. We use them only to read your comments and, if needed, reply. Please do not include recipes or customer information you want kept private. This is the only place the site collects information you type.
Server logs, cookies and analytics
Like any website, the hosting provider that serves these pages processes ordinary request information (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) in its own logs. This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies and does not currently use analytics. If optional, privacy-preserving analytics are added, this notice will say exactly what is measured before they are switched on.
The blog and AI-assisted writing
Blog posts are drafted with the help of an AI service (Claude, from Anthropic) and reviewed, edited and approved by a human editor before anything is published. Only editorial material is sent to that service: post topics, draft text and the editor’s instructions. No visitor information, and none of what you enter into the calculators, is ever sent to it. Draft notification emails are sent to the site operator through the same email delivery service used for the contact form. Reading the blog is like reading any other page here: no accounts, no tracking cookies and no analytics.
Advertising
There are no advertisements on this site at the moment. If display advertising is added later, it will appear only on the home page and guides, never on the calculators, saved projects or printouts. Advertising services can involve third-party scripts, cookies and consent choices. This notice will be updated and any required consent options offered before ads are turned on. We cannot promise that no third party is involved once ads are enabled.
Your choices
- Delete a project or all saved data at any time on the Saved projects page, or clear this site’s data in your browser settings.
- To ask about a contact-form message, write via the contact form.
Children
The site is intended for adults who work in food service and is not directed to children.
Changes
If this notice changes, the date at the top will change. This notice is not legal advice, and it does not determine legal obligations that may apply in your location.
